Sweet Escape to the South

If you haven't experienced the City South of Cebu, it's high time you visit Dalaguete. It's a place located kilometers away from the city center. This should not worry you because transportation services are all available. You can take a bus, jeepney or even hire a cab to reach the place. Dalaguete Beach Park is the name of the resort we went too. It was a fine long drive afternoon. It was a lucky strike for me considering I don't have to pay for anything including fare as I was just kidnapped by a lawyer friend who happens to bring their car with him. So there. All you have to pay for is an entrance fee of P50.00 and a cottage that's cost around P350 which can accommodate 6-7 persons. If you are planning to go as a group, this place is the place to be. It's not as crowded unlike the beaches near the city belt. Plus, there's so much to do. The resort offers group activities like volleyball and boating (that explains the bangkas) I was sitting on in the picture. They have clean comfort rooms with guaranteed fresh running water. Perhaps the only downside of the resort is that it doesn't offer a place to stay for the night. Although I believe you have to negotiate with the care taker of the resort should you wish to stay for the night. You can bring along your tents and mount it on the resort's grounds. As for the water, it's cold and the current is not as calm as those in northern part beaches. Perhaps because it's near the open sea. So if you are planning to stay for the night, you better bring with you your jackets. Of course, it will be a best venue for a bonfire.
